Our Story

If you ask Ada and Femi when they first “met,” you’ll get two different answers.

Ada’s version: It all started on a rainy Tuesday in Lagos traffic. A startled bus splashed a tidal wave across her freshly pressed suit. The only person who bothered to hand her a pack of tissues—and an apology—was a mildly embarrassed stranger in the next car.

Femi’s version: It was three days earlier, inside a crowded tech‑hub lobby, when he spotted a woman reading Chimamanda’s Half of a Yellow Sun and confidently declared, “That’s my favourite novel.” (He’d only read the first chapter—but she didn’t need to know that.)

As fate would have it, both were on the organising team for a nonprofit hackathon the following week. Ada handled community outreach; Femi managed all things tech. Between late‑night planning calls and frantic snack runs, the two discovered a shared love of plantain chips, Nollywood classics, and making elaborate Spotify playlists for every mood.

By demo day, their project—a crowdsourced map of free public libraries—had won first place. More important, Femi won a date at Ada’s favourite amala spot. One bowl of ewedu and endless laughter later, Lagos traffic no longer felt so unbearable; suddenly it was just enough time to finish each other’s stories.

Three years, countless playlists, and one surprise proposal during a sunrise hike at Idanre Hills later, they’re ready to write the next chapter—together.

Meet the Bride – Ada Chidinma Okoye

  • Work & Passions: Communications strategist by day, amateur food critic by night. If there’s a new pop‑up restaurant in town, Ada’s already reviewed it on her blog—complete with mouth‑watering photos.

  • Signature Move: Can strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere (including the flight attendant who now follows her book‑club recommendations).

  • Secret Talent: Knows the lyrics to every classic Afro‑soul track released between 1990 and 2005.

  • What Femi Loves Most: “Her laugh. It fills a room faster than the Wi‑Fi connects.”

Meet the Groom – Oluwafemi “Femi” Adeyemi

  • Work & Passions: Software engineer and weekend photographer. He can code a weather app in Python and still find the perfect golden‑hour lighting for Ada’s food photos.

  • Signature Move: Carries a tiny notebook for sudden bursts of billion‑naira startup ideas… 95 % of which revolve around better jollof rice delivery.

  • Secret Talent: Wins every family dance‑off with his legendary zanku footwork (wedding guests, you’ve been warned).

  • What Ada Loves Most: “He listens—really listens. Plus, he never forgets to add extra dodo to my plate.”
