Local Travel Tips

  • Ride‑hailing apps are the easiest way to move around; drivers prefer card‑less trips, so keep some cash or a Nigerian debit card handy.

  • Traffic can be unpredictable. Build in buffer time—especially on Friday evening.

  • Currency: ATMs are widely available, but daily withdrawal limits vary; consider bringing a small amount of USD/GBP to exchange at the airport for peace of mind.

  • Weather: Expect 28 °C daytime highs and possible afternoon showers. A light linen jacket or shawl is perfect for breezy evenings by the lagoon.

  • Power & Plugs: Nigeria uses Type G (UK‑style) sockets; hotels typically supply adaptors at reception.
